Just wanted to share a funny moment from the Pink Panther (new Steve Martin remake), in which a reporter asks him, “Do you know if the killer was a man or a woman?” and Clouseau answers, “Of course I know that, what else is there.. a kitten?”
It’s a silly thing to stand out, but a lot of times, you come across non-information or non-opinions. There’s speech. There’s words. There’s even text or written language. Its effective information content is zero.
Every notice when someone comes up to you, presents an idea and says, “We think this idea may or may not work.”
And you’re staring back and nodding seriously, but you’re thinking of Steve Martin in your head and trying not to laugh. “Hmm… let me see here. That’s a tough one… it may work, or it may not work…. Wow… Need to really think of this here. Boy you’ve really narrowed it down to some close contenders, I’ll give you that.”
